As this beer’s namesake famously said, “I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been”. Does a session ale made with 100% smoked wheat represent the future of beer? Time will tell. What we do know is this style, first brewed in the Polish town of Grodzisk Wielkopolski in the 14th or 15th century, is a worthy style for the modern beer connoisseur. Expect a pronounced but not overpowering smoked aroma thanks to the Weyermann smoked wheat malt, a beautiful light straw colour and an easy drinking finish perfect for the warmer months. Brewed in collaboration with our old mate Hendo from Rockstar Brewer, Wayne Grodziskie is worth a shot, and you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.
